Help!! I've fallen into a pit of madness and it's full of weirdness beyond the realms of sanity. Is there any way out?

Oh my god, there's more!!Collapse )

And what's more? What? eh? oh, yeah, the lunacy goes on tour too: see hear.

What is the world coming to and fro from?

Oh what joy! One of those gentle and strangely melancholy Oliver Postgate progammes that I was brought up on has made an appearance on youtube. I give you The Pogles (for fans of Bagpuss and Ivor The Engine and Noggin the Nog etc):

You can find out (not very much) more on the official website here.

They don't make 'em like that anymore ;) I'm not sure they ever did...

You gotta love them Black Debbath chaps. Well, you don't have to, but it's difficult not to.

(Incidentally, if you didn't already know and in case you're curious - and some of you lot are very curious indeed, if you ask me - Hedda Gabler is an Ibsen play which basically centres around a troubled, manipulative young woman who causes chaos and eventually shoots herself. Which may or may not have something to do with whatever these fine Norwegian chaps are singing about)

Use your mouse to drag the girl through the bubbles, or just spin her round till it makes you dizzy.

Mindless waste of time

I was looking for some splooshy bubbly watery type sounds to add to my electronic tinkerings and I found them and much more besides right here. Excellent stuff.

For no reason at all other than it was giving me a bit of a giggle while I listened to it and it's a bit of a distraction from writing project reports. Benny Hill's 'Pepys Diary':

Subject:It's moider on the trains

Blag It! are back. And this time it's personal.

We've booked ourselves a trip on the Orient Express on 21st, 22nd and 23rd June and whaddyaknow? Someone's only gone and got themselves killed. Fortunately, Hercule Poirot has wangled himself a last minute seat on the train so he will be able to sort it all out.

Or, to put it another way, we're presenting Agatha Christie's 'Murder on the Orient Express' at Talking Heads, Portswood on those dates. Doors open at 7, performances start at 8:30. Tickets a mere five pounds per head. The rest of the body gets in free.

As far as we know, it's not been done as a stage play before, so you will want to shower Julia with praise (usually in the form of wine) for a tremendous adaptation and pinpoint direction. Come along and try and work out whodunnit and why and where and when and with what before Hercule Poirot's little grey cells unravel the mystery. And see if you can work out what the hell our accents are.

Some more information on the poster, stylishly put together by Clive.

Incidentally, that is Glastonbury weekend, in case some of you managed to get tickets to that.

Feel free to repost here, there and everywhere. Cheers. Have a funtastic weekend.

Bah. I missed this Spinal Tap type spoof of a Welsh death metal band while it was free on the internet. Anybody see it? Worth getting hold of?

In the news here and a trailer on their myspace here.
